Sumario: The subject of contemporary communication reinvents itself and the social meanings of its context, including the meanings of identity. Young Facebook users experience a visual zapping with the pictures published by their friends, each picture with features that may or may not be added to the young user's self representation. For the user, there is no continuity between the world offline and online, which gives them the opportunity to set identities in their web pictures and create their own meanings of identity outside the web. But, how do users between 13 and 15 years old represent their identity through pictures posted on Facebook? Although users don`t think about how they are presented on the website, by being part of Facebook, they access information that allows them to recognize themselves among other internet users and display who they are through their differences, but also their similarities within their age group.
