Sumario: This research is focused on deepening the approach of social responsibility from which public water and basic sanitation companies located in the metropolitan area of Bogotá, D. C. manage their plans, programs and projects, which impact on communities from different perspectives. Based on the conceptions of its executives, guidelines, and the degree of approach of such experiences with the international standard ISO 26000: 2010, the need arises to have relevant information to determine the reflection processes and the business transformation that can constitute a starting point to generate tools that guide the implementation of the dimensions of social responsibility in its corporate governance
