Sumario: This article aims to describe the effects and demands of labor flexibility, especially in the health sector, and the implications for the management of health and safety at work. To this end, we did a literature review, which evidences that the health sector is one of the most affected by this phenomenon. This is reflected in the instability of workers, generated by the changes made within recruitment processes; the susceptibility of dismissal and rotation; decentering at work; segmentation of labor and reduction of freedom of association. As the management of health and safety at work is a systematic and organized process aimed at protecting health and promoting the safety of the workforce, it allows the incorporation of components leading to complement the management of organizations in aspects that have not traditionally been considered in sufficient levels to achieve personal and organizational benefits
