Sumario: One of the problems of modern society, part of the alienation of bodies that are crossed by different instances that cross the economic, political, ideological, religious, etc.; fractionating individuals as integral beings and dissociating them from social processes. This research presents an analysis of how dance generates empowerment processes on these bodies based on elements taken from the umbrella of nonverbal communication and body expression within the framework of symbolic interactionism. The Private Educational Unit "La Salle" presents a proposal of extracurricular workshops in various spaces that appeal to develop artistic sensibilities such as: dance, music, and theater. In this framework, the dance group is established in the school year 2017-2018 for all students of 8 years and older; developing physical abilities and abilities along with growth in the mental and spiritual environment. Through the analysis of the study subjects in their process of dance formation, it is inquired about the physiological, functional, mental, spiritual and social elements that are modified through this artistic practice that reconstructs the being divided from the Cartesian dualism in body-mind Empowerment is analyzed through the categories of analysis: integral perceptual awareness, reconfigurations around the social constructs about the body and the cathartic function that dance seeks.
