Sumario: Introduction: Flexible endoscopy of the upper airway (FEUA) is an important tool for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The objective of this study was to find correlation between the results of the FEUA and the polysomnogram for the diagnosis OSA.Methods: 141 patients underwent a polysomnogram and a FEUA. The result of these two test where compared. Results: We found positive association between the presence of snoring, the size of the uvula and the Müller maneuver in patients with OSA. There was no correlation between the results of the FEUA and the polysomnogram in OSA.Conclusions: These findings are similar to those of other authors and support the fact that even though FEUA cannot be the only diagnosis method for OSA, it is vital for the identification of obstruction of the upper airway that can be managed by the otolaryngologist.
