Sumario: In this paper it is proven that the entrepreneurial stance on SMEs has apositive influence on export performance. The Global EntrepreneurshipMonitor (GEM) database from 2011 is used for a sample of 320 exportingSMEs. Using structural equation modeling, a positive effect is proven ofentrepreneurial characteristics, internal and external, and access to government resources on entrepreneurial stance. With these results, the SMEscan recognize their weaknesses and strengths on internal resources andtheir environment, and take steps to improve their export performance.
