Sumario: Objetive: To determine the prevalence of otitis media in children living in the city of Cartagena de Indias attending the Children's Hospital Napoleón Franco Pareja. Method: Study observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, with the purpose this research observation and recording of events without intervening in the natural course of these. The population in which this project was implemented, are the children of 0-5 years attended the Children's Hospital Napoleón Franco Pareja, in the city of Cartagena and who were diagnosed with this disease in the period between 2012 and 2014. Results: Statistical analysis determined that there is a high prevalence of otitis media in children aged 0-5 years attended the Children's Hospital Napoleón Franco Pareja in the City of Cartagena, sociodemographic characteristics were established, identifying a total of 313 cases between different types otitis media present between 2012 and 2014, the most prevalent male. Conclusions: Otitis with more prevalence in the population is acute otitis media (AOM), with a larger number of cases reported in males and in children with subsidized, mostly residents in the area 2 in the City of Cartagena
