Sumario: The present research about the palliative cares is an approach to the coping to an elderly woman with cancer at the terminal stage with two daughters both of them caregivers in her last days, which the main objective was to characterize the palliative cares on a oncology patient and her family, in the last phases of the sickness, likewise taken into account the specifics objectives which were to verify the information who have a oncology terminal patient and their families to face the illness condition, identify which intern elements ( personal, emotional) has the patient and their family to confront the disease process and identify with what external elements ( economic, social support networks) have the patient and her families to face the illness process. The research was characterized as a case of study of descriptive type; the tools for the recollection of the information, was the semi structure interview. Finally the conclusion is that the cancer in terminal stage involve a series of changes physically, mentally and socially; and despite of using the "silence" or not face the disease, it prove that exist strategies and resources to face the disease process available to the patient and family and are used subjectively in each.
