Sumario: This research paper presents the results obtained in the research made in 2013 about reading and writing practices through ICT for the program“Computadores para Educar”. This research project inquired about the effects that may be caused by the implementation of technological and communicative tools in reading and writing practices in remote areas where these had not been used by them. A qualitative methodology was used with an information collecting technique in non-participant observation of pedagogic activities through ICT. The observation was realised in classrooms with students in 21 rural and elementary schools in Cundinamarca. From this research, an approach to the transformations produced in reading and writing practices was obtained when changing from physical to digital, generating conclusions about the necessary conditions and recommendations so that the implementation of this kind of tool is successful and relevant for the improvement of quality education in differential contexts such as rural schools.
