Sumario: This article explores the role of social networks in building the identity of Cali´s teenagers between 12 and 16 years. The document highlights the relevance of describing, through qualitative research and the psychoanalytic perspective, to be teenagers in postmodernity in which different sociocultural and generational forms of being adolescents converge through of social networks. Based on the analysis, the authors propose through photographic analysis of Facebook profiles and Instagram of four teenagers, in order to contrast the way in which the presentation of the self is made to the virtual communities vs. the speeches offered by these in the interviews, concluding that social networks benefit both the development of hedonistic behaviors typical of adolescence and generation of Pseudo identities.
