Sumario: This work invites to ponder on the teaching of sign and semiology and their implications in the development of the medical act; highlighting the fact that the medical act should not be confined to an act of sign decoding. It proposes the theoretical inclusion of semiosis in the chair of medical semiology as an input for the medical student. It also focuses on the construction of the doctor-patient relationship and the interpretation and improvement of the moment. This is suggested from a perspective that gives a new meaning to sign and theoretical content that underlies around the theoretical content itself, and, it is all possible within the framework of the teaching - learning processes of semiology in health sciences. These processes allow the event to happen, and with it, the use of such event as a genuine condition of possibility that reinvigorates the entire patient-physician relationship.
