Sumario: The Burnout Syndrome is considered as a consequence of the prolonged and constant exposure to psycho-social risk factors within an organization that provides a service to society and whose workers are in direct contact to external and internal customers, and suppliers of the tools needed to carry out their labor. This triple connection with people may be the main consequence of some psycho-social risk factors that could trigger the Burnout Syndrome, which should be prevented and, based on this study, treated through proper intervention for the staff of this academic institution. Psycho-social risks prevention is so important in any organization because working environment, performance, goal achievement, leadership and service quality depend on physical, physiological, biological, ergonomics and other conditions of the work place. This is the reason why the company must maintain a proper work environment for workers not only as a commitment, but in recognition for their job. If this good practices are not carried out, there is a high risk of suffering of work-related illnesses such as Burnout which is caused by chronic stress and it can be transmitted between co-workers, as well as to customer and people directly or indirectly related to the institution; causing coronary diseases, accidents and economic loss to the company.
