This research describes the system of production and production capacity in family farming units in relation to marketing and local demand. Within this management the empowerment of women as the main plaintiff and defender of agroecology, and the existing legal and political support to strengthen this kind of economic and ecological initiatives are highlighted.
The problem of this thesis deals is little information exists regarding the actual production and marketing capacity of agricultural family units in the conditions of Canton Otavalo, where the participation of women to be the engine that streamlines all process goes unnoticed, which affects state policies.
Given this problem, the question posed in this research is sustainable performance Is Fair Imbabío Agroecológica network? Therefore the overall objective of this dissertation is to explain the operation of the network Imbabío Agroecológica Fair and sustainability.
The research is qualitative and less quantitative percentage. It is a case study of productive economic units Agroecológica Fair Imbabío network located in Canton Otavalo. The study group was 13 organic farms sampled in approximately 45 farms because not all are active. Through methods of literature review, field record, participant observation, dialogue meetings, open surveys and interviews with actors and directors, producers, consumers and authorities, has fully complied with the stated objective.
This thesis concludes that the productive economic units agroecological Fair Imbabío network has capacity to sustain demand for its consumer, thanks to the implemented agro responsible process and empowerment of women in their management. Besides economic management as a whole it is sustainable in terms of social profitability because it generates employment for the family. |
