The purpose of this research is to identify the pedagogical model applied by the teachers of the 5th year of Basic General Education, from the Mathematics Area, at the Don Bosco Salesian Private School, in order to accomplish said objective, a theoretical framework is complemented, where basic concepts such as model, education, and pedagogy are determined, in addition there are issues addressed such as the theories of pedagogical models that support the present investigation, which are classified in the theory of the Traditionalist Model, which is based on the teacher as the central axis of education; the Theory of the New School, which is developed in the student as the main actor in the educational process; finally the Constructivist Theory, understood as the interrelation between teacher and student for the construction of knowledge made by the student in an autonomous way in the teaching-learning process. The problematic that motivates this investigation is based on the Curricular Update and Strengthening of 2016, issued by the Ministry of Education, since some fairly general aspects are developed on the Pedagogical Model suitable for the Ecuadorian Education, the same ones generate a certain degree of confusion in the teachers at the moment of determining the Pedagogical Model to be applied. It is in this way that through the implementation of methods of qualitative research and the use of techniques such as interviews and direct observation, it was possible to determine that, the Pedagogical Model used in the Salesian Private School Don Bosco, is closer to the definition of the Constructivist Model addressed in previous lines. |
