Sumario: The present project tries to predict the behavior of a sheet of aluminum of 0.5 mm of thickness in a process of stamping in Ansys (specialized software) and then to contrast the results with real tests. To begin, we describe the finite element method, Ansys's main tool for solving problems. Subsequently, refers to the theory of stamping, which clarifies the physical process. Also the different methods for the calculation of forces and displacements of the different tools that make up the stamping process are broken down. In the next section, a basic Ansys exercise is solved with a punctual loaded sheet for familiarize with the different options of the software and see the process necessary to later simulate the aluminum sheet. Once advanced at this point, tensile tests will be done to obtain characteristics of the material, which will be of utmost importance to perform the theoretical calculations and the resulting simulation. Finally, results will be obtained from the comparison between the actual tests and the simulation in Ansys, important characteristics as thicknesses, stresses and forces will be analyzed.
