Sumario: This work is a synthesis of prior to the construction of a double acting hydraulic press for veneer inlay design, and aims to provide as teaching materials laboratories of Mechanical Engineering of the Salesiana Polytechnic University. The research was conducted under the documentary and analytical compilation related to hydraulic machinery emphasizing low mechanical design engineering parameters. The ability of the machine to be considered for the design was five tons, driven by three hydraulic cylinders front flange of double effect, two similar cylinders for dam plates and one larger diameter cylinder for veneer inlay. The drive unit is driven by an induction motor 3 HP power taking into account the flow supplied by the gear pump needed to drive the system. The maneuverability of the hydraulic system is affected by a 4-way directional valve 3 position of both levers. Also have two pressure relief valves to control the pressure of the three cylinders. For sizing mattress or pneumatic ejector reference was made 1.5% of the total strength of the machine according sizing criteria. Finally the machine frame, the connecting elements bolted and welded connections were designed taking into account the maximum possible static loads within the hydraulic press.
