Sumario: The present work of titling allows to evidence the expectations of the indigenous family of the commune of Carrera in front of the education, with the purpose of analyzing the expectations and the factors that influence in the individual perceptions. For the present research study, 14 elderly people are involved, among them comuneros, parents, exdirectors and some professionals, where important achievements in the professionalization of their children are evidenced, however this has only been possible for a few families, while For the rest of the community has been a difficult goal to achieve for different situations, either due to economic difficulties or lack of commitment of the parents and on the other hand the incomplete infrastructure has prevented concrete expectations about education in the community. For the present study the qualitative methodology is applied to obtain information about the study problem. Among the main discoveries are two expectations in the indigenous family; The potential expectation where parents refer in a generalized way that education in the community has achieved the university degree in the community. And the effective expectation, where few parents are able to economically support higher education and achieve the professionalization of their children, also, there is a need to reorient the academic offer to an agricultural technical career to take advantage of the resources of the institution and of the indigenous family.
