Sumario: The San José Los Pinos neighborhood, located in the Cutuglahua parish, Canton Mejía, Pichincha province, does not have a potable water distribution system. This has caused great discomfort among residents, both economically and socially. The objective of the project is to provide a solution to this problem, through the implementation of a potable water distribution system. Two alternatives are proposed for the design of water conduction; The storage tank will have a circular section with a reserve volume of 100 m3. A closed distribution network shall be used with pressure reducing and venting valves. The drinking water system will be composed of the following elements: catchment, treatment plant, reservoir, pipeline and distribution network. Those that will be designed according to the standards: EX IEOS, SENAGUA, EPMAPS-Q Drinking Water Design Standards, and the Ecuadorian Construction Standard, the design will be made for a 30 year life. The results obtained were favorable, both in the hydraulic designs, as well as in the analyzed economic parameters (VAN, TIR, B / C); which indicates that the project is viable for its execution. The Environmental Impact study was also carried out, which plays a very important role in the execution of the project, because it will avoid causing damage to the project intervention area.
