Sumario: The necessity of developing an Android App for visually impaired population was showed by a survey to this social group with the purpose of giving more autonomy when choosing color garments to the daily wear. This mobile App receives and saves several parameters (age, gender, skin color, weather report and type of garment) set by the user by voice recognizing technology, later the App will identify the color of the cloths selected by the user through smartphone’s camera and at the end will give a suggestion for a clothing combination based on the parameters set previously. In order to store the collected data, this App uses a SQLite powered database. The color recognition is made through an OpenCV index. Finally the clothing suggestions are the result of matching color techniques (based at chromatic wheel) evaluated from the user personal parameters. The tests results evidenced that the App is easy to use, reliable, efficient with the use of CPU and memory, reaching the user’s expectations, as a testing group has evidenced by means of an interview.
