This document collects the living memory of the Lumbisi Community located in Cumbaya. Its aim is to analyze their everyday communication, historical and social organization of the community, and specially their oral tradition. This research intends to support with knowledge the problematic circumstances of nowadays life in Lumbisí, such us: the lack of identity of youngsters, having to deal with being so near to the urban areas, and the will of outsiders to buy communal land. This paper has four chapters. The first two chapters focus on enhancing the theoretical – scientific knowledge, taking into consideration, everyday communication, cultural hybridization, collective memory, oral tradition, their myths, and sense generation. The last two chapters have to do with fieldwork in which I collected eight different tales from the oral tradition of Lumbisí by interviewing ten elderly people, men and women from the community, and by making a pamphlet for children between 8 and 12 years old. |
