Sumario: Presently in Ecuador the field of psychology is undergoing a process of change and modifications, from the societal conceptions held toward psychology and the educational formation as principal axis to achieve transcendental changes in our society. This comes about from the analysis of the accreditation processes that the Ecuadorean State is currently carrying out, involving the modification of the academic curriculum in the universities, to ensure the quality of higher education in our country. And in the specific case of organizational and work psychology, a need is being evidenced for the creation of spaces for meeting, reflection and analysis, in order to strengthen the scientific orientation and fundamentals of psychology, in which is implied a specialization of human behavior in organizations, with the objective that this professional does not remain limited to administrative and operational functions, but through investigation, analysis, diagnostics and evaluation constantly seeks the well-being of the people in the organizations, which allows them to satisfy their needs achieving a quality of life in the organizations and in the end in our society. This research project reveals social perceptions and institutional demands of the employers of organizational and work psychologists and to know their experiences, perspectives, opinions and valorizations regarding the role of these professionals in the field of work in the Metropolitan District of Quito.
