The following Project is named “Estudio Socio-Lingüístico de la Vitalidad del kichwa en la Comunidad Cutahua, Parroquia Simiátug, Cantón Guaranda” the objective was to know the kichwa vitality in this community. In this research, I have taken into account 100 families who lived in that place.
In order to obtain the data about kichwa situation, polls, interviews and observations were made. Then, the level of knowledge and the attitude of native kichwa speakers were known.
It was founded that most of the 45 year old – people up to 70 year speak kichwa in a flow way. About younger people, half of them speak and the other half have a passive comprehension. Only a minority don’t understand anything of the language.
Once I have collected the corresponding information and the analysis of the collected data, I concluded that there is a high consideration of this language. It means that kichwa language is still being used by each person. Finally, some proposals are made to improve the situation of language in the community of Cutahua. |
