In the reality of every society, historical memory plays an essential role; takes elements of a common past and structures them, with the purpose of creating identity; since it is constructed as a story, or discourse and as a shared fact, it is proposed that the actors know their common past, allowing the cultural richness of an established community to last through time.
This is how the need arises to rediscover and tell the story of La Argelia neighborhood. Located to the southeast of Quito, its geographical location places it within the social imaginary, as a relegated sector, devoid of identity and assumed even as a subordinate. Belief that has been shared socially, becoming a problem expressed in some media, which have highlighted social setbacks arising in this space, rejecting all historical background.
Consequently, the present investigation focuses on compiling, narrating, and sharing the historical memory of the La Argelia neighborhood; place that stores great social and cultural processes, of great importance where in addition the organization has been his greater tool, and has allowed so much a development to urban level as social in its residents.
Therefore, the process of this investigation seeks to recognize its popular organization, value their stories and claim their identity as social actors, so that it remains recorded in the memory of its inhabitants and is transmitted from generation to generation; through a documentary video. |
