Sumario: This thesis is made up of two volumes: the first volume refers to to the description of the Structural Design Project of the Pan-American Highway Sur-El Chaupi, Environmental Impact Studies, Foundation Soil Study, Pavement Design, Construction and Budget. In the second Chapter, presents plans of the transversal and longitudinal profiles of the project. The development of the Project "Structural Design of the Pan-American Highway South- El Chaupi ", which is located in the canton Mejìa, Province of Pichincha, eight kilometers in length, the necessary studies were carried out in order to reach Establish the technical data for its design, construction and budget. Said Project begins with the geographical location of the highway, the basic need to have a good road, its agricultural production and livestock, which is the main source of income in this area. The Environmental Impact Study was developed with data that could be obtained of Public and Private Institutions with which we can determine that the levels of environmental impact is minimal in the construction phase. In the special measures of Environmental Prevention and Mitigation, it puts great emphasis on the care of the natural environment, the Industrial Safety of the workers, camp facilities in the construction phase for that comply with hygiene conditions and protects the surrounding population to the path of any negative environmental disturbance. In order to establish the foundation conditions of the structure of the road, laboratory tests were carried out to determine the bearing capacity of the soil, whose tests yielded high values ​​of CBR so that a improvement of the subgrade. In order to have a regular way it has been necessary a movement of land, either cutting and / or filling, without altering the geometry of the road.
