Sumario: This study was carried out with the purpose of identifying the pedagogical model that is applied in the Republic of Brazil Institution, in the sub-level of initial II located in the Chimbacalle parish, Canton Quito. The pedagogical models considered for this study are the Traditional model, the New or Active School and the constructivist model, in which the attitude of the teacher and the student, teaching methods and techniques and evaluation instruments are described. For the present investigation, the qualitative method was used for the data collection of the teaching practice, which during the last years has undergone changes for the curriculum, since it has not been possible to make a good application of a single model. pedagogical for the teaching-learning process, this was carried out through direct observation, which was recorded in a field diary, to then describe and analyze the most relevant, in addition to applying an interview to the directors of the institution and teachers in order to know about the documents applied within the educational institution. The investigation will allow to know the work that the teachers do within the educational system, since they seek to develop a number of strategies, methodologies, resources, activities, adaptations and evaluations in order to provide a quality education. Finally, it was concluded that the Republican Institution of Brazil uses the socio-constructivist pedagogical model and the María Montessori method, based on the interactions of children with the people around them and their knowledge, through the work game methodology.
