Sumario: This documentary video “Traffic Jam” shows: history, situation and projection of the metropolitan public transport system in Quito and the alternatives to current management, to develop new mobility trends and improve the quality of life of the people. Also, propose the repowering of the BRT transport system (Bus Rapid Transit) and their complementarity with other means of transport in operation and in the actual construction phase too. All of it, with parameters of urban planning, operation, accessibility, inclusion, road culture, sustainability and efficiency. A lot of communicative products (journalistic notes, reports, documentaries, chronicles, etc.) have reflected the problems of urban mobility in Quito, limiting itself to raising an imminent problem whose discomfort transcends public transport users and drivers of private vehicles. “Traffic Jam”, try to – with observation, experimentation and testing – to confirm that the BRT transport system is still the best alternative of current mobility allowing a shift from one place to another saving time. Thus, the current situation of the transport system and their alternatives, are the two axes that are under the framework of communication and the city and whose content is reflected in a documentary video that shows the reality of public transport in Quito and its problems like the imminent growth of the automobile fleet, the demographic growth and the lack of urban planning.
