Sumario: This document presentsand develops thetheoretical and methodological foundations that sustainthe developmentof the thesison the theme:designofa training programincritical readingimages(LCI) for teachers of language arts unit educational "Providence" (UELP). The thesis presents an analysis and a study on the need for teachers in the area of Language and Literature (UELP) are trained about the new subjectto be taught as part of the requirementsof the New School Ecuadorian (NBE). Critical reading of images (LCI) will form part of the new curriculum from 2013,and will be heldin the thirdyear of high school. Afteran analysis based onthe methodology SYSTEMATIC INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT CURRICULUM (SCID) this research developsa proposal LCI training, so that teachersin charge,performsits work with foun dationsin implementing education, in line with modern approaches linked towhat is called Communication Education.
