Electric distribution companies with the aim of improving the quality of service, increase the reliability of power supply automated management systems solving specific problems of each of the departments of the utility , implementation and development of different systems were creating information islands which were reflected when trying to perform efficient information exchange between electric distribution companies. The acquisition, processing information through various protocols gives birth information the need for a common information model that can be used by any system without the need to go through many converters , representing the information in a standard form for easy handling, processing and independent of its architecture, operating system prompt .
The standardization of information systems with common characteristics and market globalization gives birth the need for an entity to standardize , regulate, certify that the systems are used in power distribution companies are interoperable and are independent of technological progress , knowing and present benefits by having interoperable systems. |
