The tendency in the Electric Engineering field, such the most of technical fields
is obtaining smart systems which will be able to be auto-administrative in a big
proportion. The technological development allows this plan with the appropriate
use of hardware and software.
The actual necessities contemplate stability and electric safety, monitoring and
diagnostic to the electric red in real time for the preventive and corrective faults,
to have statistic registers which improve the system efficiency and reduce
operational costs. This is why the substations automation becomes a priority.
Though the history we can see different producers using protocols developed
by themselves for the communication among their equipment, with which their
control and protection systems were implemented, this cause difficulties to
integrate different brand equipment, due the incompatibility among them.
The present project highlight the advantages of using the international standard
IEC 61580 for substations automation, in its first version, allow the
communication between control equipment, protection and measure inside the
substation reaching an inter operability among different fabricators. |
