This research starts from the Theory of Social Representations of Serge
Moscovici to identify the relationship between the representations of Public Space
and the Community Participation of Mothers of school Leonidas Garcia in the
neighborhood Loreto in 2015”
The group mothers of the school Leonidas Garcia in the neighborhood of
Loreto, Canton Rumiñahui, it was formed by the possible closure of this educational
institution. The school has about seventy students for this reason the District
Directorate of Education of Rumiñahui suggests to mobilize towards children to
Institutions in Sangolquí downtown, the problem is the mobility and distance from
this change. In addition, the support, improvements and recruitment of teachers has
declined, causing the deterioration of facilities. The group of mothers were organized
to empower school promoting mingas, extra school meetings in order to improve
environmental conditions of the place for their represented, the Children of the
neighborhood. At present, continue the efforts to keep the school in operation under
the direction of the District Directorate of Education of Rumiñahui, the group of
mothers with the support of the directive of Loreto, have initiated processes of
Community Participation for appropriating other public spaces to improve the use
and care |
