Sumario: The analysis of the subjective effects of psychosocial intervention in cases of domestic violence and gender-based violence are scarce. The main objective was to know the subjective effects of psychosocial intervention to eradicate domestic violence from the narrative of a history of life. This study was conducted at Quito during June and October 2016. The results showed that subjectivity of María was based in the bosom of a traditional family, where violence is naturalized. Due to their struggle and agency capacity from an early age, she was able to access high school; the patriarchate only allows men to have the possibility of being educated. Attending workshops and training allows María to modify her structure and the ways it relates. Mary evidenced a transformation in both speeches and how her practices. She is also recognized as leader and key social pillar in their community as well in the organizations which she belong, because of her actions. Marìa broke the cycle of violence by denouncing to her partner and left him, she also performed a generational change for inculcating and encouraging other forms of relationship free from violence.
