Sumario: The purpose of this investigation is to: Contribute to the reduction of gender violence in the university premises based on knowledge about conceptions and practices about sexual harassment from the perspective of university young persons who are students of Psychology from a private university of Quito. The methodological perspective that was used is characterized by its relativistic ontological and objectivist epistemological approach. It is also based on feminist theories of “situated knowledge”. This investigative work was carried out in a mixed qualitative-quantitative way. Its design is experimental because it involved correlations of variables respect pre-established indicators and non-experimental because it also collected data that was not constructed in a predetermined situation. Two types of instruments or techniques were used for data collection and production: participant observation and the questionnaire. The sample is constituted by men and women students of Psychology of a private university of Quito, whose ages oscillate between the 18-48 years. This investigation brought as results that: a) Although women recognize situations of sexual harassment in their university interactions, they tolerate them quietly and without taking any reproving action. b) Men recognize and identify better than women situations of sexual harassment, but they in their practices they continue to perpetuate these acts.
