The objective of this research is to revitalize the social memory of the city of Quito through photography, for which fundamental elements were analyzed in order to understand what was the process of documentation about the social events that generated a historical memory about the Quito society. The communicative product will be important to analyze and understand how the culture of the Quito society has been configured, as well as to show which were the social processes that make the identity of Quito visible, based on photography. From there starts an important analysis to understand how photography is used as a tool for configuration and / or representation of Quito's culture since the 19th century, since it is inserted in our country since the 1860s. This photographic book will help Quito and Quito recognize in a dynamic way the history of their city, since it is an editorial product that collects images of the main social events that marked a milestone in the development and construction of Quito society; people will identify with the representations, or remember those significant social and cultural processes in the capital city. This editorial product will help Quito and Quito to revitalize their identity. Its main axis is communication and identity, since it seeks to analyze the identity construction of Quito society which will be represented from photographic illustrations. |
