Sumario: Bearing in mind the many structural and social changes that one can see in pedagogical practices, they usefulness is limited in the process of developing true skills in the students, this problem is grounded through the justification, basic concepts and the theoretical foundations that serve as a base in order to carry out the ethnographic observation of educational practices. Normally, the analysis draws to a close during the third grade in the area of Language and Literature. Later, the teaching techniques are analyzed according to basic parameters such as the lesson plan, methodology and teaching of the given subject. Also taken into consideration is the interaction between participants, evaluation strategies, academic assignments and finally observations. This structure at the same time serves as a focus point for the observation process with the end goal being the comparison of what is written to how it is put into practice. It is important to note the atmosphere that the teacher brings to class and the way in which he/she fulfills the plans with which he/she has been entrusted. Fundamental is the application of the science of teaching to educational practices which bestows a moment for reflection and analysis. This deliberation leads us to various conclusions which show specific results of the teaching – learning process. Apart from influencing the climate of the classroom and the interaction between participants, they highlight recommendations which can be enriching to the pedagogical task.
