Sumario: This research presented as general objective Identify the scope of role playing as a teaching tool to encourage oral production in French of the tenth graders Female Lyceum Mercedes Nariño. The research involved field work that was based on the application of data collection instruments and field notes, survey and interview additional information as well as photographic records, audio recordings and videos. For data analysis and data triangulation evaluation of teaching tool based on the basic standards set by the MEN (Ministry of Education) to level A1 foreign language (English) (role playing) it worked. As the case study methodology and the communicative approach worked. This work showed the main results as strengthening cooperation between students when talking in French, increased self-confidence to express themselves in a foreign language and role playing host as a potential educational tool to encourage oral production in French.
