Sumario: The investigation work has been done on the expectations of the indigenous family in education in the community of Cercado, Sagrario Parish, Cotacachi canton, Imbabura province in order to improve the quality of the student´s learning process en the classroom. Through the observation has been achieved to know the participation of parents in the academic training of students. Nowadays the education shows a deficit in the most vulnerable sectors of our society inside indigenous villages. The education is like an obligation not as an useful tool that promotes personal and country development. This has been detected in the learning process of the students of Basic Education in Cercado Community. For the development of this search was applied the qualitative investigation method and its appropriate instruments. The information based on the diagnostic and theoretical framework, before analyze were read some books of different authors that help to understand the real situation, looking for a solution to the difficult trouble that was related with the issue of research. The expectation in education is limited according to the socio-economic conditions of parents so that their children will get their goals. The investigation allowed to know the reality about parent´s expectations on their children´s education.
