Sumario: In humans, language integrates a symbolic system that determines the manner and ways in which man are integrated and developed in society. This paper deals with a form of communication between human beings based on technology through text messages via cell phone. The use of mobile in young you can be two interesting elements for the inquiry. In the social sphere is a very useful tool for establishing relationships and language allows the creation of concepts and a revolution in language. The objective of this research is to explain the effect of these messages in the spelling of 13- to 18-year-old school Simon Bolivar of Quito. We are using as investigative techniques interview, survey and theoretical analysis in this descriptive study. The work will identify the contexts in which they occur these new ways to establish new ways of socialize and, specifically, how students use these text messages through their cell, the frequency thereof, the use of abbreviations, emoticons and signs punctuation and interrogation. The effect of using this form of communication in spelling will also being explained because although these messages encourage communication and socialization among young people, the possibility of a decline in reading rates and an increase in spelling and grammatical errors are also analyzed.
