The present work related to the topic "Incidence of the oil exploitation in the social and economic development of the canton Shushufindi province of Sucumbíos during the period: 2007-2017", aims to know the socioeconomic situation of the communities of the Shushufindi area in those that are currently being exploited.
In this sense, theoretical foundations were made on oil exploitations, knowing that the blocks located in the Shushufindi area contribute with 33% of crude production, being around 90,593 barrels of daily oil production, which are exported to obtain of income and financing to the Public Budget. The Shushufindi canton has 44,328 inhabitants divided into six parishes. Of the total population, 53.70% belong to the PEA, which are dedicated to primary activities. There are also 16 health service institutions and 103 educational institutions, however, there is no full coverage of basic services.
Since the oil exploitation activities have not only economic benefits for the State but also help the population through road construction, schools, etc., this has not been enough, then, the survey revealed the lack of services of drinking water, new sources of work, establishment of actions to avoid impacts to the environment, therefore, this has affected that the flora and fauna are in danger of extinction, including the vulnerability of the quality of life of the inhabitants of the zone. |
