Sumario: This investigation studies the conception and the method of evaluation of learning in the pedagogy career in Polytechnic Salesian University, Campus Quito. It’s main purpose is to identify the authenticity of the evaluation processes of the learning that takes place in the career of pedagogy. The objective of this study consists in evaluating the learning of an “authentic evaluation” in response to the deficiencies of “traditional evaluation”. To achieve this goal a theoretical framework was developed and a survey was conducted on the students during the semester of March to September 2015.The method used to achieve this was quantitative and descriptive. Three criteria were chosen to analyze the gathered information: realism of the task, professional identity, and significance. The results of the investigation show that the students feel that there is an approximation to an authentic evaluation but there are some aspects of the traditional evaluation that still persist, such as tests that still promote memorization and repetition.
