Sumario: The present investigation approaches the problem of the closure of the primary school Medardo Angel Silva elementary school of La Chimba community, located in the Olmedo parish of Cayambe Canton, which focuses on understanding and raising awareness about this problem guided to the inhabitants of the parish, the canton and the country. It begins with a historical review of the community and the school. Then, the causes of the campus closure, and the impact that has caused this event are described. This study is supported by some documents from different authors, who have reflected on the theme, and these contribute to institute an appropriate theoretical foundation. There is not enough information about the specific case of the Medardo Ángel Silva elementary school. In other words, there is nothing written about the theme. However, the most important data, about this topic, has been compiled to support this research. The approach used in this research is an inductive one, which starts from the particular to the general. Besides, the types of study that has been resorted to are: exploratory, and descriptive. It works with a mixed methodology focused on qualitative aspects. Finally, the techniques of qualitative cutting, ethnography, participant observation, interviews are techniques that allowed us to collect very important data, to carry out the analysis and interpretation of the collected information. With all this theoretical and field information, the conclusions and recommendations were posed, which may be helpful for the awareness of authorities, parents, teachers, children, and leaders
