Traditionally, natural resources have been distributed unequally to the different
sectors of society, giving preference to the elite groups instead the poor social
classes. One of the most contested natural resource is water. Nationally, we know of
few cases where water management has been awarded to community organizations,
is the case of the Consortium for Integrated Development of Water and Environment,
CODEMIA-CPM, which achieved this goal to distribute so equitable water resources
of the old ditch Tabacundo five parishes of Cayambe and Pedro Moncayo. |
