The rates of gender violence in our country are high, evidence of a problem
that we are all called to eradicate from each of our areas of action. That is why, this
research seeks to investigate from the perspective of three artists who are part of
several groups in the city of Quito, on experiences in the use of art, specifically theater,
as a tool for transformation and directed psychosocial intervention to approach and
prevention gender violence. At first, a conceptual framework is created where the
necessary foundations are laid for what is meant by gender violence: its causes,
consequences, possible solutions, theoretical conceptions about social intervention
through art, as well as theoric conceptions of theater and psychosocial intervention.
Secondly, the chosen methodology is presented, which in this case takes as its starting
point socio-constructionism and situated knowledge. The technique used, are narrative
productions in order to build new looks around the phenomenon studied. The results
obtained from the narratives of each one of the participants of the investigation are
presented. Also, an analysis is carried out that consists in generating a dialogue
between the stories of each one of the interviewees and the theoretical contributions of
the different authors investigated. Finally, the conclusions are presented in which
emphasis is placed on the most relevant points of this research. |
