The following investigation has been developed in two moments; the first one includes a theorist review of the most relevant authors that had worked on social skills. This stage also incorporates a comparative analysis of the guidelines of other manuals developed by Educative National Office for the same audience. This information was the previous step for the construction of the present product: “Social Skills for parents – Methodological Guide for Counselors Departments”. The Guide was developed for been work by the professional team of Counselors Departments, with the group of parents of the school. From this background will be possible to upgrade social skills (negotiation, defense of own rights, decision making, deal peer pressure) in children and teens. The Guide was built with simple and direct instructions, step by step, so the professional team should put in action it and lead the activities with parents and family representatives. This will develop social skills in their sons and daughters. The construction of the product “Social Skills for parents – Methodological Guide for Counselors Departments” starts from the framework of each social skill; this should standardize the definition in the participants. Coming up next the manual includes resources that will allowed putting in action the activities without improvisation. These actions should be arranged considering the differences of each region and the peculiarities of the context, but maintaining the essence of the same. At the end of each social skill, the Guide proposes an evaluative tool. This resource allowed makes a difference between each group and will make easier the selection of participants that had learned the proposed social skill. |
