Sumario: Research related to gender violence as a cause of work absenteeism is limited. The present titling work reveals gender violence as a cause of work absenteeism, through a case study carried out in a medium company between March and July 2016, in the city of Quito. Based on interviews with professionals in the human talent area and female workers who have been victims of gender violence, it has been concluded that due to the lack of knowledge within organizations, factors that lead women to leave their workplace are components that generate considerable costs in the organization, imbalance of activities in the work team, delay in obtaining results, without leaving aside, the employee Which is being affected without being able to express their current situation, opting for silence to avoid further damage to their integrity, their home and work environment. This research focus the gender violence and absenteeism as a social problem that has to be treated integrally in the organization, due to the increase in the rate of absenteeism and the percentage of related complaints, without taking into consideration the rest of Incidents that have not been visualized by the existing fear of denouncing the aggressors.
