Sumario: Ecuador is a multicultural and multiethnic country, this means a variety of worldviews and expressions. Recovery practices implemented by; Basque experience, strategies of bilingualism in Otomi, Marlen studies Haboud and Consuelo Yanez among others. There are also policies to rescue the ancestral language, example; the Organic Law of Intercultural Education (LOEI); whose purpose is to revitalize and strengthen the ancestral language. The object of the research was to study the sociolinguistic situation of Kichwa discussed; deterioration, obsolescence and the strengthening of the language, in San Pablito members of Agualongo community. In this context, analysis of the study in the community about the socio-linguistic situation of the Kichwa shows that; children between: 8-12 years of age 100%, read and write in Castilian, the desire to learn persists. It is similar in youth 15-20 years of age, its importance is highlighted. Adults 18 to 40 years old consider Castilian as their mother tongue, but a part of this population, considered important to revitalize the language. Adults over 50 years 100% speak and understand, it is the only village that keeps the Kichwa. In the observation, 95% of the people speak and understand in Castilian, the results show that adults do not transmit the ancestral language properly, and sufficient reason for the expense. This work aims to generate reactions in families, who are key to revalue identity and cultural features in the community.
