This document describes the lessons learned from the process of accompanying the company’s employee’s families. This process was carried out in order to identify and study family dynamics and workplace dynamics, as well as to observe how critical situations lived within a family could be related to poor work performance. Considering that emotional and affective traits of people impact both the quality of life and the social roles of individuals on a daily basis; a “systemic focus” is used as the theoretical base to work within these families during the visits/accompaniments and to support family and work development. The process involves reading the notes made during visits and comparing them with workplace perceptions; enabling the exchange of information to contrast events occurred within these two systems. It has been evidenced that conjugal conflicts impact both family dynamics and workplace performance. Also, periods of crisis in family systems turn workplaces into safe havens, as a compensating environment. In this regard, the systematization enables the observation of a link between both systems throughout crisis narrations. |
