The following research, is within the macro investigation “Desarrollo cognitivo,
calidad de vida y percepción subjetiva del envejecimiento” conducted by the Universidad
Politécnica Salesiana.
The research aims to know the affective condition that presents the elderly adult
population of the parish Roldós-Pisulí beneficiaries of the community center “Casa
Somos” present in the period from september 2015 to june 2016.
It is considered that the elderly adult population is rapidly increasing and therefore
constitutes a priority attention group whose particular conditions are not widely known in
the ecuadorian context.
The affective field researched takes into consideration that the losses that normally
occur throughout a person’s life cycle are multiple and can generate feelings of loneliness
and lead to manifestations of anxiety and or depression.
The research was conducted on a group of 30 elderly adults, men and women from
Roldós-Pisulí, using a quantitative methodology with descriptive scope, with a non
experimental cross-sectional design, obtaining information throughout psychological
scales where the following four sub variables were analyzed: losses, loneliness, anxiety
and depression.
The results obtained show that the losses suffered and the loneliness felt have not
provoked depression in the group, but anxiety does stand out as a personality trait. In
addition, the group that the research was conducted on showed the presence of resilient
aspects related to the particular path of its members, as well as of the performance of the
group, the same that acts as a protection agent. |
