Sumario: The research project formulates the validity of the language and how vital the Kichwa is within the community population; As well as pretending to know the attitude of the people with the use of the indigenous language, the level of dominance was determined in relation to the strengthening and construction of identity as indigenous. The research is based on the bibliographic review, which allowed to know in depth the theories related to the subject of study, also the field research facilitated the compilation of information from the interest of each of the community families, precisely to contribute the analysis of The data and interpret each case from the results obtained. At the conclusion of the analysis of the results, we can say that the vitality of the indigenous language in the Gatazo Grande community represents, that 2% does not speak anything, 20% understand some expressions, 13% understand everything but does not speak, 3 % Understands everything but speaks little, 3% speak with some limitations and 57% of the population speaks fluently this means that the Kichwa language remains in force but with certain degrees of risk tending to disappear gradually, this is the cause Of the closing of the community educational institution since the student population is attending the educational centers in the cantonal and parochial head.
