Sumario: This research is part of the research line Education, Language and Communication, its fundamental purpose is to describe how the audiovisual media promote discursive construction in students of the academic space Intercultural Communication I2of ninth semester of the Bachelor’s in Spanish, English and French (LLCIF) at La Salle University. The work is based on four theoretical pillars: the iconographic image (Sanchez Bedoya, 2009), the notion of discourse and teaching strategies for reading and writing (Martinez, 2005), and the convening power that film industry has (Martí, 2011). The qualitative approach and the case study with a single measurement was assumed as the research strategy. We designed and implemented three types of data collection tools: interviews, surveys and workshops and class. The results confirm that students prefer the use of audiovisual media in the classroom for its benefits in their learning process (motivation for example). The study allowed concluding that for the academic space , media contributed to greater interaction between students in the classroom and also contributed elements adopted by the students at the time of build written discourse.
