Sumario: This research assigned to the macro project “Maestros Colombianos Ilustres del siglo XX” (Colombian distinguished teachers from the 20th century) under the line of work “Educational, Pedagogical and Didactic knowledge” from La Salle University and based on a qualitative paradigm and the biographical narrative method, seeks to establish from Guillermo Hoyos lifehistory, narrated from his closest friends and students, own texts and voice, the contributions this teacher made to Colombian education. It establishes a discursive relationship among his academic thinking, educational assumptions and pedagogical practice, shaping an educational proposal related to the relevance of thinking as a transforming didactic in the world of life.
